Dean Francesca Cornelli is widely respected as an accomplished scholar and a leader in business education. Her research interests include corporate governance, private equity, privatization, bankruptcy, IPOs and innovation policy. Some of her research includes:

Exploring the time period before a company gets listed on the exchange, specifically looking at the process of “Bookbuilding” and assessing the pricing strategy for efficiency and accuracy;
Focusing on the corporate governance aspect of private equity and corporate governance/management best practices; and
Examining venture capital and the types of securities used to finance start-ups. In particular, she highlighted the surprising importance of the role that convertible bonds played in funding start-ups.

Dean Cornelli has published several papers in the major finance and economics journals, and she gives regular talks at major conferences and universities. She has been an editor of the Review of Financial Studies, and previously served on the board of editors of the Review of Economic Studies and as an associate editor at the Journal of Finance. She is a research fellow at the Center for Economic and Policy Research, and previously served as a director of the American Finance Association.
